This project represents everything we can ever hope for when coming together to save a child’s life.
This is the ‘Heart of Victory’ painted by Alex who is now in remission from leukemia. Sottil later took the heart to his studio in Tampico and embellished it with Alex’ favorite animal: panthers.
The original heart painting was auctioned for thousands of dollars, benefiting children with cancer, at The Florida Hospitals annual ‘Golden Gala’ event. These hearts are the ultimate testimony and inspiration that encourages us all to continue to come united and fight for the hopes and dreams of a sick child.
Each year the Luis Sottil Foundation will publish a limited edition heart painted by a child in remission from cancer as part of the hearts of life collection. The very accessible market value of each giclee reproduction will make it possible for all to collect these priceless hearts and become part of this amazing testimony.
All financial contributions will be destined to provide the necessary resources for those children who are still sick so they can continue to fight with dignity and dream with hope. Each and every child afflicted with cancer should be given every opportunity to see their dreams come true.
